Jeffrey and Tyler participated in the school districts Run for Fitness this year. In preparation they spent their 3rd recess running everyday for over a month! They even had to keep track of their running schedule during Spring break. They enjoyed having this event to work up to and prepare for. They ran by grade level with lots of kids from all the schools in Gilroy. It was fun for them to have so many kids there to run with. It really hyped them up. It was cool to see their school and church friends (and Jeff’s teacher) somewhere besides school and church. After they ran, they received a T-shirt and a sack lunch. It was a fun run!
“My favorite part of Run for Fitness was that I was running super fast.” ~Jeffrey

Community Clean-up
The City of Gilroy had a big community clean-up day that our ward participated in. Here’s what the kids had to say about it:
“I think the Earth Day Clean-up was fun. I really had a great time. I found an orange worker cone and Brevin found a cat’s skull. It was really, really hot. I really enjoyed being with all those friendly people. I feel great about our city, I feel cleaner now.”~Alexis
“I had a lot of fun cleaning up trash with my friends. It was fun because we found lots of nails. I felt happy that I was able to make our city look better and I felt good inside.” ~Jeffrey
“We cleaned up litter and I found treasures. I had a grabber and a baggie. I got to wear an orange vest. I had so much fun and afterwards I got to have pizza.”~Tyler

Flour Sock War
This was a super fun mutual night. I thought I could pass on the idea.
Our YW President collected a ton of unwanted socks. She put about a cup of flour in each one and then she tied a knot on the end. We asked the kids to come dress in dark (preferably black) clothes. We met at the park and split into teams. Then we had a sock war! If you got hit, it was obvious because of the flour, you were out. Once the socks started flying, they were up for grabs. Some kids played it safe and stayed on their own side and threw at a distance. Others ran right in, grabbing ammo along they way, and swung the socks at people without letting go! Once you were out, you were sent to a common ground (like at a picnic table) to wait with the others who were out . The goal was to get the whole other team out. We played 2 out of 3 and then made new teams. Each games goes pretty quickly so we were able to mix the kids up a few times. We even did a boys against girls! This was a really fun activity. This picture is of all the girls and the YM President.

Andy’s Bday
34 Reasons Why I Love Andy…in no particular order –
He loves me.
He is a lot of fun.
He is a hard worker.
He is thoughtful.
He has a strong testimony.
He honors his priesthood.
He is a great father.
My kids love him.
He listens to me and understands me.
His smile.
He wrestles with the kids.
Sometimes he still is a kid.
He gives me plenty of breaks from the kids.
He worries when I’m late (even though I’m probably just chit-chatting with someone).
He eats ice cream with me every night (this somehow makes me feel less guilty!)
He dishes the ice cream every night.
We get along so well.
He is patient.
He always wants to do what’s right.
He does more laundry than I do.
He is (usually) willing to go along with whatever I want.
He likes all the things I like.
He has given me 4 beautiful children…with good hair genes!
His hair!
He gives me so much support in my callings.
He laughs at his own jokes.
Sometimes things don’t come out they way he meant to say them.
He puts up with my teasing and sarcasm.
He loves to read to the kids.
He has never forgotten our anniversary or my birthday (if he has, I don’t remember it).
He surprises me with a bubble bath and candles.
He cares about my feelings.
At night he sometimes dreams that he is saving the world (from terrorists, aliens, etc.)
And because he’s Andy!
Happy 34th Birthday Andy =)
We had a fun day. Our friends Shelly & Q had us over to watch General Conference. It was wonderful. I especially liked Elder Ballards talk about mothers, Daughters of God, what mom didn’t! And how about that one guy -could it be…Dana Carvey? He looks just like Dana Carvey in 30 years. See for yourself - Elder Lance B. Wickman.
After Conference we headed out to the property. Dad, Matt, Tim and Andy moved a water tank up by the redwood tank.
We had a yummy dinner and Ice cream cake for dessert!
