Spring Break was great and as always it went by way too fast. I love having my kids home with me. I love not having a schedule to abide by. Most of all, I love not having homework to worry about. Didn’t I already do enough of that when I was in school?
Easter-
We stayed home for Easter this year. Our tiny house did not have many hiding places but the kids didn’t seem to notice. They had a great time, although they did miss their cousins. I hope we end up back at Emily and Steve’s next year for our traditional Easter Egg Hunt. Our first year down there, Emily and I went out and bought some brand new sets of plastic Easter eggs so that we could carry on the traditional “one color egg for each kid” deal that we had as kids. I almost traded her my pink and purple eggs since her girls love those colors and I new my girl never would. For some reason we never did trade and it’s a good thing because as you can see we used them this year. Of coarse, Alexis didn’t choose them…pink is currently Jeffrey’s favorite color!
Beach-
We try to make it to the beach every year during Spring Break. This year it was so early since Easter was in March but we couldn’t break tradition. So, we made it, even though it was a little chilly and pretty windy at times. That didn’t really matter, the beach will always be one of our favorite places to be! Here we are at Rio Del Mar with the Richards.
Bike Ride-
Later that week we tested out the levee. Now that we live in town, or should I say on concrete again, the kids have gotten pretty good at bikes, roller blades, etc. They did so well that we had to keep telling them to stop and wait for us to catch up. I guess Marcie and I could have tried harder and jogged or something, but after all, this was Spring Break, I wasn’t doing this for exercise! Now that I know how well they did maybe I will try to take them on bike rides more often .
P.S. Today is Emily’s Bday
Happy Birthday Em, we’re looking forward to our next visit to Atascadero. We are excited about your addition and can’t wait to see the progress. Andy’s anxious to challenge you guys to some more Donky Konga. Hope your birthday weekend was great! =)
